Natural Egg Dye contains four food-grade colour powders for dyeing eggs. The base colours purple, orange, blue and green can be used separately or mixed to create additional shades.
The colours are made with extracts from spinach, purple carrot, turmeric, beet, red cabbage and blueberry. The kit also includes an instruction sheet with creative ideas for decorating eggs.
Directions
- Dissolve one colour powder in approximately 120 ml of hot water.
- Place the egg in the dye bath for 10–20 minutes.
- Carefully remove the egg and allow it to dry.
There is no need to add vinegar or boil the eggs again.
Important to know
- Natural dyes produce a softer and less predictable result than synthetic dyes.
- The final colour depends on the original colour of the egg, the mixing ratio and the time spent in the dye bath.
- The dye may stain hands, textiles and porous surfaces. Protect the work area and clean spills promptly.
- This is egg and food dye, not children's paint or face paint.
- Adult supervision is required because hot water is used.
